Events

The Helmholtz-Fonds e.V. (Helmholtz Fund) promotes scientific discourse and supports the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in its efforts to share its knowledge and findings with users in science, the economy and society. To achieve this, it sponsors PTB seminars, workshops, Helmholtz symposiums and congresses.

The aim of PTB seminars, for example, is to transfer specialist knowledge while emphasizing the innovation-promoting communication of new scientific findings between industry and science. They are hosted by PTB’s scientists, usually at the institute, and each addresses a scientific topic stemming from one of PTB’s areas of research. These events are attended by specialists from industry and the economy, from universities and PTB.

The Helmholtz Symposium is a one-day scientific colloquium which is organized by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). Each symposium addresses a topical research matter which is considered as being of great significance for the challenges which metrology will face in the future. Leading international scientists are invited as speakers.
