The bioanalysis working groups on protein analysis (PAWG), nucleic acid analysis (NAWG) and cell analysis (CAWG) within the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance: Metrology in Chemistry and Biology (CCQM) hold their autumn meeting at PTB in Berlin. In connection with this meeting a stakeholder workshop "Towards standardisation of pathogen measurements" is organised.
The aim of the workshop is to explore the major challenges and different metrological approaches which may contribute to the standardization and harmonization of pathogen detection and quantification by providing SI traceable measurement results. Standardization of pathogen-related measurements is essential for ensuring consistency, comparability, and reliability of measurement results across different laboratories and studies. Standardized materials and methods help researchers, clinicians, and public health institutions to validate methods and ensure a high-quality healthcare outcome. To explore the state-of-the art and future requirements for standardization of pathogen-related measurements, speakers from NMIs, reference institutes and clinical researchers active in the field of standardization of pathogen-related measurements will present their work and challenges.
Interested participants from research, industry and standardisation are very welcome to contribute to the discussions about the needs for harmonisation and standardisation in pathogen-related measurements.
